Independent study since February 2024

Food. Microbes.
Relationships.

My research explores food–microbiome interactions through structured review and synthesis of peer-reviewed literature.

Areas of research

Microbial ecology

Microbial diversity, resilience, individual responses, and signaling between microbes and their human host.

Food and preparation

Traditional dietary practices, fermentation, sprouting, and the role of food preparation in the questions we ask about nutrition.

Whole-person resilience

Exploring the interconnected systems discussed in published research, while keeping the person’s lived experience in view.

How I approach the evidence

I distinguish published findings from emerging hypotheses, traditional observations, and personal experience. My aim is to translate complex literature into accessible educational material without making the evidence seem more certain than it is.

This work is literature-based and educational. It is not original clinical or laboratory research, and I do not diagnose, prescribe, or recommend treatment.

From inquiry to writing

Wellness in Balance explores these interconnected themes, and To Sprout or Not, To Ferment or Not to Ferment, and The Living Microbiome take them further, with A Journey Through Your Microbiome to come. The Awakening provides the personal and reflective foundation of the work.
